The "SUP User" option does not describe which users have opted to use SUP's services. Rather, this option is set for every user who is eligible to use SUP's services, whether or not they have opted in.
You are not obligated to use SUP's services, but this option will be available to you. This decision will be stored in a separate location, not in the "SUP User" capability. The "SUP User" capability is enabled for all users who are eligible to use the SUP front-end, even if they have not chosen to use it. I apologize for the confusion surrounding this issue.

We haven't yet built the mechanism to let you choose whether you want to use SUP's services, but this will be available well before SUP begins offering any services. When it is available, you will be able to make the choice not to use SUP's services at all.

Date: 2006-12-20 07:29 pm (UTC)Уже давненько эти самые 6Апартов с удивлением смотрели на живой журнал (ЖЖ) - тучи русских постят в него со страшной силой, а им в Америке от этого ни холодно, ни жарко - ни денег, ни рекламы, ничего - одна головная боль и расходы.
Поэтому они решили, надо что-то делать - то есть срубить за это дело денег - пользователи всегда сколько-то стоят, даже если они не приносят дохода.
Очевидно, русские ли русскоязычные пользователи могут быть интересны только русско-язычным капиталистам - типа Березовского, Абрамовича и так далее.
В данном случае фамилия человека, который башлял - Мамут.
Но из того же ряда.
Его уболтали и местные типа Носсика, что данный ЖЖ - это супер выгодное вложение капиталов, что это круто.
Они сказали ему так:
- Это же Блоги!
- У всех приличных людей есть блоги в ЖЖ!
- И мы (то есть Вы) будете хозяин этих всех людей !
- И очень недорого (всего ХХХ миллионов баксов)
Вот они теперь и думают, как получать из этого деньги.
Типичный русский разъебизнес.
А контроль в том, что всякие анти-семитские, анти-фашисткие, анти-исламские и прочие экстремисткие посты и другую политругань, до которой так охочи ЖЖ-пользователи, будут фильтровать здесь в России, а вовсе даже не там в Америке. Что имеет свои плюсы и минусы.
Вот так я думаю.
